What other country would motivate to save the life of a child of a people they are currently engaged in battle with? Apparently merchants from the south will be selling stuff at the Tel Aviv port on Sunday and Monday….more info to come. (Three minutes later….what more info could I possibly find? People are putting together care packages for soldiers, visiting Ashkelon to visit kids in bomb shelters, writing letters to editors in papers in their communities around the world…

Oh, and if you’ve planned to make a trip here but are now having second thoughts….COME. More on THAT later….or do I need to remind you of the name of this blog? No shrapnel to be seen when I was eating my salmon noodle dish last night in Tel Aviv. But I did see some horrendously written English on the paper tablecloth. Mmm….Giraffe.

I sent pizza, soda and hot soup to some soldiers via pizzaidf.org…..or wsomething like that- I did it in 2002..still wonderign what are the feelings about Shalit- and I listened to Galei tzahal all day at work..they play some nice music…Saw Avi tonight at a screening of a new doc- “Blessed is the Match” about Chanah Senesh…..Stay safe- spend chamesh shkalim for me at the namal and I’ll pay ya back when I see ya!!!
I’m having trouble digesting the story about saving the Palestinian baby. While I am glad Israel is morally superior and always helping others, there’s also something disheartening about the fact that we are saving Palestinian lives while being bombed by them. It just doesn’t sit right with me…
