More Great Moments in Israeli Marketing: Oh Dear…

This is across the street from the Old City. I don’t even know what to say.

Ummm….nice weather we’re having, isn’t it?

It's CLOSE to the Old City, but not quite "across the street." It's more like "across the street and a hop, skip, and a jump" away. I so wanted to try them when I was in J'Lem but the wife would have none of it and I was quite happy at the River Noodle Bar, especially as it was תור שלה לשלם.

Good point….it's across from Mamila, isn't it? Which of course hosts HaGap. Thanks for the correction.

I saw it when I was in a cab my last day in Jerusalem and almost jumped out to take a picture.

This is a "Bad Idea Jeans" campaign if ever I saw one.

    Captcha: "dises" – booya!

Could you find out if that place is kosher? I would hate to recommend it without knowing for sure. ;-)

My husband is US Military and "away" right now. I am totally printing this picture and mailing it to him. I am sure it will make him laugh!

re your tweet "what is the worst name you could give your child in Israel" how about DesDimona?

This relatively new dining establishment, joins ranks with its much-older next door neighbor, Tachat. (You, know, the one whose lettering is hardly readable, because it's fashioned from three illustrations of butts?) The point of Tachat is to force people to say that they're going to eat there, viz, "leechol batachat" or, "to eat in the butt." Which is Hebrew slang for something I wouldn't describe on a family blog.

i've seen this before and am more disturbed by the unclear sentence (and misplaced apostrophe) "hot dog's heaven." oh, to be a grammar czar in this country…

  17. Stacy October 14, 2009 at 1:10 pm #

I hope you can see it from the Kotel

Has anyone considered posting this on failblog.org? ;)

  19. Benji Lovitt October 19, 2009 at 3:58 am #

Maybe I should….till now, I've avoided this whole "fail" world. If I do, can I link it back to my blog to get some publicity?
