And You Thought “Pines” Street Sounded Weird

I bring you the most ridiculous street name in all of Israel.  Seriously, can this be topped?

I believe this is in Givat Massua in Jerusalem, right by the old Young Judaea hostel (the “new” old one.)

HI-larious.

If anyone’s looking for me, I’ll be laughing ha-ass off.

Apparently it’s across the street in Ir Ganim.

It’s actually the biblical name for Lavender, mentioned in Shir Hashirim. Check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nard_%28plant%29
And it’s in Ir Ganim, and existed way before Givat Masuah was even planned.

    Ahhh, Americans…

“nerd” is actually a name of perfume. it is one of the eleven spices that the high priest use to sacrifice in beit hamikdash twice a day.

Amazing how much Torah one can learn from a street sign.

They have a ha-nerd street in Zur Hadassah too, and I totally cracked up the first time I saw it. Amazing that someone could make such a street name twice.
